EBC 406AFM – AUTOMATIC FIXED MILITARY EMERGENCY LOCATOR TRANSMITTER

Product Manual Coming Soon!

Military version of the EBC 406AF. Is aft mounted, painted flat black, has a rod antenna. Transmits on 406.028, 121.5, & 243.0MHz. Meets TSO-C91a and TSO-C126.

The EBC 406AFM is an aft or tail-mounted ELT for fixed wing military or governmental aircraft in which night vision equipment is used. These ELTs are painted a non-reflective flat black. The EBC 406AFM has an external rod antenna and so it can be installed anywhere aft of the cabin of the aircraft. Because it is aft a Remote Control Monitor is necessary. To meet the needs of our military or governmental users these ELTs transmit on three frequencies: 406.028, 121.5 and 243.0MHz.

The system comes with a transmitter, survival tape antenna, mounting bracket, a battery pack, an external rod antenna with a 6 ft. cable and a Remote Control Monitor with a connector kit. If the ELT is activated a built-in monitor emits a loud beeping tone and the LED flashes. The survival antenna allows the ELT to transmit a good signal when used outside the aircraft.

Intended for military or civilian governmental use it has been designed with the newest technology. The EBC 406AFM incorporates the best and proven features that characterize all of EBC’s emergency locator transmitters. These transmitters have encapsulated electronics and battery packs to provide added protection against shock, moisture and other environmental hazards.

A self-test feature is built into the EBC 406AFM. This feature allows the pilot to test for output power on both 406.028 and 121.5 MHz, the connection with the antenna, and the condition of the digital signal. The test can be done directly at the ELT or through the Remote Control Monitor.

The EBC 406AFM meets the requirements of TSO-C91a and TSO-C126, approved by COSPAS-SARSAT and meets FCC requirements under Part 87.
